Considering it’s one of the most affordable cars on the market, the Chevrolet Onix looks pretty decent for its size. It’s roomy enough for four adults, with a 280-litre trunk in the back. However, the sleek exterior isn’t replicated inside, where everything is a little scruffy. Later versions have touchscreens, and the 1.0 engine in the entry-level version only develops 80 hp, so make sure you have enough time to get where you need to go.
Citroen C3
The Citroen C3 is certainly a really cool hatchback aimed at the younger car market, so its more affordable insurance rating is perfect. Available in a variety of colors, both interior and exterior. The 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine is very agile and has good visibility, making it perfect for city driving. However, the C1 is cheap for a reason, as it seems to have a (very low) price tag, plus higher mileage cars are often a headache. It would also be fair to describe the stroller as comfortable.
Fiat Argo

These days, it’s easy to get coverage within the price range you’d expect, based on your profile. Comfortable and stylish, Fiat Argo has soft and smooth materials for the interior, giving it the feeling of a big car. The most complete version has a modern and elegant multimedia center. The only problem is the engine, which only had 77hp in version 1.0.
Ford Ka
There’s a good reason the Ford Ka has been at the top of bestseller lists for years, and that’s because it excels in almost every way. It combines the kind of high-tech features you normally find in a premium car with the simplicity and economy of a true small car. It’s a shame it’s not as spacious as some of its competitors. The 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine is a peach and helps make the Ka a truly fun car. Great, low insurance sounds like a good deal.

Hyundai HB20
The Hyundai HB20 is a stylish looking hatchback with standard equipment including air conditioning and a touchscreen sound system in the most complete version. It’s spacious enough for (only) four people, and the trunk is big enough for a weekly day trip to the grocery store or the beach. The small size and light controls make the HB20 ideal for cruising around town and parking anywhere. However, you’ll need to struggle with the 80 horsepower engine to keep up with traffic.
Kia Picanto
The Kia Picanto is one of those cars to consider when thinking about comfort, agility and everyday expenses. In its more “sporty” version, it has a modern and exclusive design and a 1.0 80 hp engine. Insurance is within the average of previous cars. The only problem is the price, compared to a car like the UP! STI
Peugeot 208
Yes, you can own a Peugeot 208 and pay for annual insurance cheaper than you think. Your life on the road will be simple, but it’s certainly a price worth paying for such a cheap (and beautiful) way to get around. With space for four adults, the trunk can easily accommodate all your things. Keep in mind that the 90-horsepower 1.2-liter engine has a “we’ll get there sometime” attitude on every trip, and the base trim level feels durable but isn’t spoiled.
Renault Kwid
Sitting inside the Renault Kwid, you would easily believe that it can be classified as the cheapest insurance group in Brazil. The dashboard is minimalist and all materials look sleek and fixed. There’s plenty of room for you and the front passenger to get comfortable, but the higher you get in the back you’ll be less than satisfied with the space on offer. The engine is perfectly adequate, but the small windows and high rear seats result in poor visibility.
Toyota Etios
The Toyota Etios has a stylish interior and is one of the most trusted brands on the market when it comes to maintenance. As well as having a nimble 1.5-liter engine and 107 horsepower for everyday use, it’s one of the cheapest insurance cars in its class.
Volkswagen Up
The Volkswagen Up is like a sports star that’s been around for a long time, but it’s still at the top of the list. The interior looks simple but actually comes with standard kit like full radio, modern color dashboard and air conditioning. It’s a Volkswagen, so the quality of the interior is second to none. However, the 60 horsepower engine needs to be revved up heavily to keep up with traffic.
